Psychology is the scientific study of human thought and behaviour. Clinical psychologists work with individuals, couples or families with a variety of emotional or mental health difficulties including:
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Adjustment to physical illness
Personal/family relationship difficulties
Psychologists work collaboratively with clients exploring the relationships between their thoughts , feelings and behaviours and in turn seek to establish why their difficulties first arose and are maintained in the present (e.g. examining individual belief systems and systemic patterns). Psychological evidence based intervention(s) are then applied in order to reduce psychological distress and support positive change.
