A NOTE FROM JOY
Coming to see a psychologist can seem daunting, especially if you are not used to talking about how you are feeling, or if you find it difficult to trust other people. It is a complete privilege to hear the stories of the young people and families that I am working with, and my first aim in therapy is to build trust and build a relationship with you- for me this is the most important, and most rewarding part of being a therapist. You might have lots of questions that you want to ask and that is fine too. I see change every day in my work, even in situations that can feel hopeless. The therapies that I use are evidence based, which mean that they have been scientifically studied in research studies and so we know they can be helpful. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
